A large part of the existing building stock must be renovated in order to achieve climate objectives. Around 1% of new buildings are built each year in Europe, so half of existing buildings will still be there in 2050 with poor insulation (R<2 m²K/W). Additionally, new renovation techniques have difficulty penetrating the market due to the lack of experience in the construction workforce. Their impacts are often reduced due to poor implementation. The CONIPHER solution aims to make deep renovation more accessible and increase its climate impact by achieving ambitious targets.

Design a durable cladding panel for an easy and quick deep renovation, including solar panels, concrete façade, insulation and connections (mechanical and electrical) and prove the ease of installation of the CONIPHER deep renovation panel: only one or two trades and 50% less time required for installation.

Prove the technical feasibility and environmental benefits of the CONIPHER envelope on a renovated and occupied collective building showing a 60% reduction in primary energy consumption and 75% in greenhouse gas emissions, thanks to a high thermal resistivity (R=5 m².K/W).
